- Lyrical tone poem, mainly consisting of two musical themes who declare their love for each other. The lady, daydreaming but not entirely ready for a new relationship dances, versatile and sensual but rational through life itself, on the rhythm of a waltz. A trombone takes over her theme, symbolizing that somebody special has entered her life. She gets confused, but finally the flugelhorn solo persuades her. In a long duet between horns and flugelhorns the passion grows, until the orchestra mounts to a passionate tutti. The lady's theme turns in the euphonium, thus finally answering the love of the 'intruder'. This time her melody merges the theme of her lover and both parties surrender to eternal love, after which they both, at the end, after a long daydream, fall asleep...
This piece written for fanfare orchestra asks for good soloists on trumpet, flugelhorn, horn, trombone and euphonium, four horns and 5 percussionists.
